EcO replacement sensors and battery: everything you need to know

Worn sensors or a failing battery in your EcO V2 probe? Our FAQ helps you identify the problem and choose between replacement sensors, a battery, or a complete kit.

General questions

Is the EcO V2 probe compatible with the spare parts?

Yes. The EcO V2 has been specifically designed to be opened and to allow the replacement of the two main components: the sensors (pH, ORP, temperature) and the battery. This feature is exclusive to the V2 — older EcO probes (non-openable model) are not compatible.

I have an older EcO probe. Can I still benefit from the spare parts?

Unfortunately not. The spare parts are exclusively compatible with the EcO V2 probe. However, if you have an older generation probe, we don't want to penalise you for it. For this reason, we offer a "V1 to V2" replacement at a preferential price: here.

My probe is still under warranty. Do I still need to purchase spare parts?

No. The EcO comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. During this period, all component replacements due to a malfunction are covered by iopool, at no cost to you. Please contact our customer support to open a case — our agents will assess your situation and arrange the shipment of the necessary parts. The spare parts available in the shop are intended for probes that are no longer under warranty.

Diagnosis

How do I know if my sensors are faulty?

The most characteristic signs of a sensor that is reaching the end of its life or has been damaged are:

  • Abnormal results that persist despite a correctly performed calibration

  • One or more sensors that are visibly physically damaged

Important: these indicators are clues, not definitive diagnoses. A sensor giving incorrect readings can sometimes be caused by a calibration issue or another factor. If in doubt, please contact our support before making a purchase.

How do I know if the battery is faulty?

The most typical sign of a battery reaching the end of its life:

  • The probe is no longer sending any readings — it does not respond, even when a magnet is passed over it.

Important: a silent probe can also be caused by something other than a failing battery. Before drawing any conclusions, check that the probe is permanently submerged and that no other parameter is involved.

How can I be certain whether the problem lies with the sensors or the battery (or vice versa)?

That is precisely the difficult question. Diagnosing a connected probe is a complex operation and there is not always a clear-cut symptom. Here is what we recommend:

  • Contact our customer support: our team can ask you additional questions and help you refine the diagnosis remotely. We are not always able to give a definitive answer, but we will do our best.

  • If uncertainty persists, opt for the Sensors + Battery Kit: this kit allows you to replace the components of your analyser and restore reliable readings throughout the year.

Available products

Which replacement products are available in the shop?

Three references are available:

  • EcO replacement sensors — Complete sensor kit (pH, ORP, temperature)

  • EcO replacement battery — Replacement battery compatible with EcO V2

  • EcO Sensors + Battery Kit — Both components together, at a preferential price

Installation

Is the installation difficult?

No. The EcO V2 has been designed to be accessible to everyone. A step-by-step installation guide is provided in the videos below.

Can I damage my probe by replacing the components myself?

If you follow the installation guide provided, the replacement is safe. Simply make sure not to force anything, follow the indicated order of steps, and close the probe carefully. If in doubt during installation, contact our support — we are here to help you every step of the way.
