What is the lifespan of my EcO?

What is the lifespan of my EcO?

EcO is designed to serve you for many years. It is important to distinguish the lifespan of the analyzer from that of its components: on EcO V2 models, the battery and sensors can be replaced separately, without replacing the entire probe.

How long does the battery last?

The battery typically lasts 2 to 3 years, depending on operating conditions. Its actual lifespan may vary with usage and storage conditions. On the EcO V2, a dedicated replacement kit lets you change only the battery when it reaches the end of its life.

How long do the sensors last?

The pH and ORP sensors may need to be replaced after 3 to 5 years. This is an indicative range rather than a fixed replacement deadline: sensor wear depends on water quality, maintenance, operating conditions and proper winter storage.

Over time, electrode aging, deposits or challenging water conditions can affect measurement accuracy. Before assuming a sensor has failed, rinse it carefully and follow the checks or calibration steps recommended in the iopool app. If unusual readings persist, contact our support team for a diagnosis.

Can I replace components without replacing my EcO?

Yes. On EcO V2 (the openable model with four screws), the battery and sensor assembly are available as separate replacement kits. A combined kit is also available. These kits are not compatible with older sealed EcO V1 probes; if you own a V1, our support team can explain the available replacement options.

How can I extend my probe’s lifespan?

Follow the maintenance and winter storage instructions, keep the sensors stored as recommended, and follow the app’s calibration guidance. Warranty coverage and estimated component lifespan are two different things.
